It was a light night for Mets minor league action on Tuesday with the top two affiliates getting rained out. Mets’ 2022 second-rounder Blade Tidwell started for the St. Lucie Mets and tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Later in the game, rehabbing lefty Joey Lucchesi tossed a scoreless inning. Mets’ 2022 first-rounder Kevin Parada was on base twice and knocked in a run.

Schwartz, the Mets’ fourth-rounder last year, is hitting .339/.400/.565 over his last 16 games with 10 extra-base hits in that span.

The Brooklyn Cyclones are now only a few percentage points out of first place for the second-half title in the South Atlantic League.

The 21-year-old Santos had one of his best starts of the year for Brooklyn as he set his season-high with 18 swings and misses. Strikeouts have not come easy for Santos, though he has 15 of them in 11 innings over his last two starts.

De Los Santos is now second in all of minor league baseball with his 68 stolen bases, however, he has struck out 148 times.

Parada, the Mets’ top overall pick this year, picked up his first St. Lucie Mets hit and RBI in his second game with the team.

Tidwell, Mets’ 2022 second-rounder, was up to 97 mph with his fastball and his slider maxed out at 2829 rpms. The right-handed does have six walks in five 1/3 innings with St. Lucie.

Lucchesi was making his third rehab appearance, all of them have been one inning and he has yet to allow an earned run. Fastball max was 91 mph and he threw four churves in the game.

Suarez got 10 whiffs in his outing including five on his changeup. which was getting up to 18 inches of horizontal break.
