The Mets announced on Thursday night they’ve activated catcher Tomás Nido from the injured list. For the corresponding move, the Mets designated catcher Gary Sánchez for assignment.

Sánchez went 1-for-6 with three strikeouts in two games with the Mets.

Nido was on the injured list with dry eye syndrome. He had plugs put into his eyes, got new contacts, and added allergy medicine.

The veteran catcher went 3-for-15 with a home run in his rehab assignment with the Low-A St. Lucie Mets.

Nido was hitting only .118/.148/.118 before he went on the injured list.
