The New York Mets announced that they have called up Logan Verrett from Triple-A Las Vegas and activated him to the 25 man roster. Verrett was scratched from his start for Las Vegas last night and took an overnight flight to NYC.
Verrett, 26, was 3-4 with the Mets with a 4.02 ERA and 1.438 WHIP in 19 appearances including four starts. He made one start for Las Vegas, tossing 6.0 scoreless innings.
To make room for Verrett the Mets optioned Ty Kelly to Las Vegas, and the team will play with a four-man bench.
Kelly, 27, batted .148 with a .466 OPS for the Mets in 29 plate appearances.
