The Mets have made a move to get a fresh arm in the bullpen.

According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, New York has acquired right-handed reliever Wilmer Font from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later.

The Mets announced on Twitter that Font will be activated tomorrow when a corresponding move is announced. To make room on the 40-man roster, outfielder Yoenis Cespedes has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.

Font, 29 this month, has bounced around the majors since debuting in 2012, spending time with the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Athletics before landing with the Rays in 2018.

In 10 games for Tampa Bay this year, the Venezuela native has logged a 5.79 ERA, 3.50 FIP, 76 ERA+, 1.429 WHIP and 11.6 K/9 in 14.0 innings.

Originally a starter, Font has mostly been used out of the bullpen in recent years, both in the minors and majors.

As DiComo notes, Font throws in the mid-90s and has two breaking pitches. He has struck out 18 batters this year, but has also surrendered 15 hits in that same time frame.
