The New York Mets have announced their 2023 minor league coaching staffs for all of their affiliates. These are the staffs who will be entrusted in developing the Mets prospects into Major League players:

Syracuse Mets

This staff will be tasked with getting Francisco Álvarez, Brett Baty, Mark Vientos, and other prospects to get to the majors in 2023 and get them to stay there. After working in various roles in the Mets organization, Scott will lead the way with assistance from analytically advanced coaches including Hetzler who was a Mets minor league coach of the year in 2022.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies

  • Darin Everson, Hitting Coach
  • Jeremy Cologna, Development Coach
  • Austin Dayton, Athletic Trainer

Brignac and Duncan were part of the coaching staff last year. In addition to Álvarez and Baty, they would also see Jose Butto, Nate Fisher, and Bryce Montes de Oca play for them in Binghamton and make it to the majors.

Brooklyn Cyclones

Newell has been promoted from bench coach to manager of this team. His staff will include Loyo, who was one of his players from last season. Loyo will become the fourth former Cyclones player to return to the team in a coaching role.

St. Lucie Mets

St. Lucie is the defending Florida State League champions, and they will have Gomez take over for Robbie Robinson, who departed the organization. Gomez is a former player in the Mets organization as is his bench coach De La Cruz. In fact, both players were teammates as Mets minor leaguers. Saulnier becomes the first full-season woman coach in Mets history.

Pecci was the bench coach for Syracuse last season, and he previously served in that capacity at the Gulf Coast level as well as with St. Lucie. This will mark his fifth year in the Mets organization and first as a managerial role.

This marks Ortega’s first year in the Mets organization. Previously, he was the hitting coach for the Red Sox Dominican Republic Academy. He has been a minor league coach since 2010 also working in the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros.

Seibert returns to the DSL Mets after serving as the team’s bench coach last season. He came to the Mets last season after working in the Philadelphia Phillies system for a year and the Player and Development and Research Lab at Wake Forest.

Martinez was named as the international field coordinator after serving as the DSL pitching coordinator last season. He was also the pitching coach for Estrellas in the Dominican Winter Leagues.
