MLB Network on Wednesday released their Top 100 Right Now List through No. 11. To this point, the Mets are tied with the Astros for most players on the list at eight.

No. 61 – Starling Marte

Right fielder Starling Marte ranked No. 61 on MLB Network’s Top 100 right now. This was down from his 2022 ranking of No. 41. Through the 2022 season, Marte batted .292/.347/.468 with 16 home runs and 63 RBIs. Marte missed time with a fractured finger and had groin surgery after the season was over.

No. 54 – Brandon Nimmo

Next up is center fielder Brandon Nimmo, ranked No. 54. Nimmo was not ranked in 2022. During the 2022 regular season, Nimmo batted .274/.367/.433 with 16 home runs and 64 RBIs.

No. 51 – Edwin Diaz

Sounding the trumpets at No. 51 is Mets closer Edwin Díaz. He was also unranked in 2022, but had a 1.31 ERA in 61 appearances in 2022, with a 3-1 record, 32 saves and 118 strikeouts.

No. 45 – Jeff McNeil

Second baseman Jeff McNeil finds himself ranked in 2023 at No. 45 after not being ranked in 2022. He lead the majors with a .326 batting average in 2022. He hit nine home runs and drove in 62 runs, with an OPS of .836 in 2022.

No. 31 – Pete Alonso

Coming in at No. 31 was Mets’ first baseman, the polar bear, Pete Alonso, up 31 spots from 2022 (No. 62). In 2022 he batted .271/.352/.518. He hit 40 home runs and drove in 131 runs.

No. 21 – Francisco Lindor

Next up, at No. 21 is shortstop Francisco Lindor. Lindor jumped 47 spots from 2022 (No. 68). Lindor in 2022 batted .270/.339/.449, hit 26 home runs and knocked in 107 runs. Lindor ranked sixth among all position players with a 6.8 fWAR.

No. 15 – Max Scherzer

The seventh Met listed on MLB Network’s Top 100 Right Now list was Mets ace, right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer, listed at No. 15. He was down three spots this year from being ranked No. 12 in 2022. Scherzer was 11-5 in his first season with the Mets. He had an ERA of 2.29 over the course of 145 1/3 innings pitched and struck out 173 batters.

No. 14 – Justin Verlander

Rounding out the Mets’ roster of athletes on MLB Network’s Top 100 Right Now list, coming in at No. 14 is the newest Mets pitcher, right-hander Justin Verlander. Verlander was 18-4 with the Astros in 2022 and had an ERA of 1.75 over the course of 175 innings pitched on his way to winning the American League Cy Young.
