Jeff McNeil left after the sixth inning in today’s game against the Washington Nationals with right quad tightness. It was unclear exactly how the injury occurred as he was replaced going in the top of the seventh with no reason to believe he was hurt prior.

McNeil, 26, has been one of the team’s bright spots this season as he is 36-106 (.340) since coming up the majors while striking out only 11 times in that span.

The second baseman continued his hit streak today, as he was 1-for-2 before leaving the game, to extend it to a career-best 11 games.
