Justin Wilson (left elbow soreness) made another rehab appearance on Saturday, this time for the Brooklyn Cyclones after joining the club in New York this week briefly.

Wilson, 31, came in with a 2-1 lead to protect in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Staten Island Yankees and he did just that.

The southpaw struck out Alex Junior on three pitches to start his night in Staten Island. After allowing an infield single to Oswaldo Peraza, Wilson struck out Ezequiel Duran and got Everson Pereira to fly out to Cyclones’ outfielder Ranfy Adon.

It remains to be seen what the next step for Wilson is and whether that will involve an immediate return from the 10-day IL to the Mets or potentially another rehab appearance with the Cyclones.

The Cyclones (2-0) will play each of their next two games in Brooklyn, both against the Aberdeen IronBirds. That could potentially open the door for one more appearance with the Cyclones before he returns to the Mets.

In the offseason, Wilson signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Mets. He has appeared in only 10 games for the Mets this season, though, registering a 1-1 record, 4.82 ERA, 5.95 FIP, 1.393 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings pitched.
