Left-handed reliever Jerry Blevins has signed a minor-league contract with the New York Mets, according to a report from Bob Nightengale. The contract will pay him $1.25 million when he’s in the major leagues with $750,000 in incentives.

Blevins last pitched in the majors in 2019 with the Atlanta Braves. He was a mainstay in the Mets bullpen from 2016 to 2018 after the Mets traded for him before the 2015 season, most of which he missed due to injury. In his four seasons with the Mets, Blevins pitched to a 3.38 ERA and a 118 ERA+ over 218 relief appearances and one “start,” in which he was used as an opener.

After getting released from the San Francisco Giants before the 2020 season, the 37-year-old served as an occasional contributor on SNY and stayed in-tune and engaged with the Metsies on his Twitter.
