With various big names starting to sign, like Jeurys Familia, Joe Kelly, Michael Brantley, and Wilson Ramos, several other big names seem to have more movement in their market.

Angels Moving Onto Next Target

According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Angels are now interested in former Mets’ target Yasmani Grandal.

The Angels saw little to no production from their catchers last year. Grandal is said to be seeking a four-year deal north of $60 million, and very well may get it from a team that is said to be looking to try and finally get back to the playoffs with Mike Trout.

Astros Add to Strong Lineup

The Astros have signed left-handed hitting outfielder Michael Brantley according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports. The deal is for two-years, $32 million. The three-time All-Star hit a fantastic .309/.364/.468 for the Indians in 2018.

The Astros continue to have interest in signing Nelson Cruz according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Outfield was a weak free agent market to begin with, now Brantley and Andrew McCutchen (signed with Phillies) are off the market.

Kimbrel’s Lack Of Market Continues

According to Buster Olney of ESPNCraig Kimbrel‘s market is still yet to develop, especially considering the steep asking price of six years and an excess of $100 million.

Olney speaks to his soft market, saying “the lack of big-market clubs currently willing to spend on a late-inning reliever could present the right-hander with a difficult market this winter.”

Kimbrel struggled a times in 2018 as the Red Sox closer, he posted a career-worst 3.13 FIP and his 2.74 ERA was the second highest of his nine-year career.

Nationals Interested In Infield Help

The Nationals have been looking recently into help on their infield, according to Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post. Dougherty reports that the Nats have been in contact with the agents for the versatile Josh Harrison.

While there’s mutual interest, Dougherty reports that Harrison’s camp is also looking “closely” at other landing spots as well.

The Nationals have been previously linked to DJ LeMahieu and various other middle infielders. They are interested after the likely departure of free agent Daniel Murphylackluster performance of Wilmer Difo and injury to Howie Kendrick.
