Todd Frazier is showing why the New York Mets signed him to a two-year deal last offseason with a good month of August coming off his second DL stint.

Frazier, 32, is hitting .280/.345/.507, 132 wRC+ with five doubles, four homer and 14 RBI in August after going 1-for-4 with a homer off Madison Bumgarner on Thursday afternoon.

The veteran third baseman is now slashing .233/.311/.415 with 13 doubles, 14 homers, seven stolen bases and 46 RBI in 344 plate appearances for the Mets in 2018. He’s currently striking out 21.8% of the time, which is below the league average of 22.1% this season. Though his walk rate has fallen from 14.4% last season to just 9.3% this season.

His defense has been exactly what the Mets needed at third with 3 DRS and for the season he has been a 2.1 bWAR and 1.5 fWAR player.
