This Mets season was defined largely by what it wasn’t, who didn’t perform, and who ultimately was traded away from the team. Blame for the season has partly been placed on some of these players, while others were merely victims of the Mets’ overall record at the trade deadline. So let’s take a look at these players and how they performed with the Mets this year. Freddy...
Midtown Manhattan never delivers a dull day. A few weeks ago, when I settled into my seat to catch an evening showing in the Theater District, I didn’t know what to expect. I knew nothing of the plot. No reports connecting it to a future movie adaptation had crossed my Twitter feed. The show was relatively new, in just its second season. And then, well, the show started, and I was transfixed. A...

The Mets’ 2022 MLB Draft was an overall successful one littered with top prospects and current major league players. Their first round was a mixed bag, however, taking Kevin Parada and Jett Williams at No. 11 and No. 14 overall, respectively. Parada has struggled so much in the minors he was left unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft last year and went unclaimed. He bounced up and down between...

Yes, we know, the Mets’ 2026 season was full of disappointments. We already shared those with you. But now, let’s try to be a bit more positive. There were some surprises during this season. Here are the ones that we think were the biggest. Robert Colonna My three biggest surprises this season are Zac Thornton, A.J. Ewing and Nate Lavender. Zac Thornton was a big surprise for the...
One of the big question marks heading into next season for the Mets is first base. Without dwelling on who could have or should have been there, let’s take a look at how New York can move forward. Internal Options Jared Young hit nine homers in 103 games and posted a .759 OPS in his first year with significant MLB playing time. But he is 31 and likely best suited for a bench or platoon...
The Mets have made many moves over the last three seasons, some good, some bad, some too early to tell, and everything in-between. There seems to be a movement on Mets social media platforms to give every success to Steve Cohen and every failure to David Stearns which is obviously ridiculous. Some players see their credit switch back and forth depending on how they are performing. Stearns is the...

Tim Britton of the Athletic recently released an article analyzing the New York Mets’ front office and the organizations struggles. In his article he noted how three years in this still is not fully David Stearn’s front office. A large number of senior staff predate him. In the article, Britton wrote, “First, owing to the executive churn that preceded Stearns, the Mets’ front...
“While he clears the offensive bar at catcher, Alvarez has work to do behind the plate. He receives well and has an average arm he used to throw out 29% of 108 minor league base stealers.” “With time, he has the potential to develop into a near-average defensive catcher,” Baseball America, 2023 “He’s not a particularly good catcher, though.” “There are...
