According to a report from Betsy Helfand of the Review Journal, top prospect Amed Rosario has been dealing with a stomach illness and has been hospitalized in Memphis.

Earlier in the week, Mets general manager said that the reason Rosario had missed time was due to a bruised index finger, but it seems that the stomach issue is what the big problem is.

However, Helfand said Rosario is feeling better today and will update his status after the 51s play today.

Original report – July 21

New York Mets top prospect Amed Rosario is out of the Las Vegas 51s lineup again tonight. He has now missed four straight games with a bruised index finger.

Rosario, 21, is hitting .330/.368/.473 with 17 doubles, seven triples, seven home runs, 53 RBI and 17 steals.

He was off to a hot start this month with a 1.050 OPS in nine July games.

During the Pacific Coast League break he played in the Futures Game and the Triple-A All-Star Game.
