I just wanted to update Pete’s post with the good news from Brooklyn…

Congratulations to the Cyclones!

With three games left against the Staten Island Yankees this weekend, the Brooklyn Cyclones are sitting in first place for the Wild Card entry of the New York Penn League 2011 play-offs, with a record of 42-29.

Their arch nemesis the Williamsport Crosscutters (Phillies), are hanging a game back, two back in the loss column, at 42-31. With the Wild Card magic number at 2, the Crosscutters play 3 games this weekend at home against State College, who suck, so they may very well sweep. While the Clones and Yankees square off for their 3 games, 2 in Brooklyn, and 1 in S.I.

If the Cyclones do win the Wild Card, they will play a best-of-three divisional series against the division winner with the best record, and it looks like that team will be the Staten Island Yankees. The divisional playoffs start Tuesday.

GO CLONES!
