After hitting .350/.480/.650 through his first five professional games with the Gulf Coast League Mets, 2019 first round pick was quickly moved up to rookie level Kingsport.

In his first four games with Kingsport, however, Brett Baty went hitless, but he now looks like he’s finding his groove.

The 19-year-old has now hit safely in his last three games, including home runs in his last two. On the season, Baty has three home runs, all of which have gone to the opposite field.

The most recent long ball came in the seventh inning of Saturday’s game. A two-run shot, it gave Kingsport a late lead, which they would keep en route to victory.

Other than flashing his power at the dish, Baty also made a beautiful play in the field, throwing out a runner at first from foul territory.

Through his first dozen pro games, Baty has seen his ups and downs, but has flashed potential of the first round talent he is.
