The St. Lucie offense absolutely dominated and the pitching out of one pitcher looked great. Binghamton had a crushing defeat losing in the ninth inning and while Syracuse did not win, Jonathan Santucci looked incredible. Oh yeah, Jefferson Rojas homered again.

Triple-A

Lehigh Valley (61-64) 2, Syracuse (64-62) 1

Box Score

The offense was largely quiet this game outside of a home run from Ronny Mauricio. Émilien Pitre has continued to hit even if the power has not yet shown in Triple-A. Mark Vientos continues to struggle in his rehab both offensively and defensively.

Jonathan Santucci was not helped by his defense behind him but turned in his best outing since getting the call to Triple-A striking out seven and walking only one. His fastball shape was the best it has been with 17.7 inches of induced vertical break with his velocity just shy of 95 miles per hour. His slider showed good spin and continues to be a pitch that excels at generating both chase and whiff. His changeup and curveball were less consistent but still effective.

Double-A

Reading (60-60) 8, Binghamton (54-67) 6

Box Score

The Binghamton offense had a power explosion with five home runs, but it was not enough to overcome the bullpen struggles. Corey Collins has performed well at Double-A and when he gets the call to Triple-A his ultra passive approach will truly be tested. Jefferson Rojas continues to mash while Mitch Voit had a rare hitless game.

Gary Gill Hill cruised for the first five innings of the game but struggled in the sixth allowing four hits and ending with three earned runs. Gill Hill has changed his pitch usage to throw his breaking balls, which are arguably his best pitches, at a higher rate with the Rumble Ponies than he did before being traded. Even with his stumble at the end, it should have been enough to lead the Mets to a win, but the bullpen collapsed towards the end with Saul Garcia giving up two home runs in the ninth inning.

High-A

Hudson Valley (62-57) 4, Brooklyn Cyclones (53-66) 1

Box Score

The Cyclones struggled to string together hits with the entire offensive scoring coming off a solo home run. Trey Snyder after a slow start at the level has logged multiple hits in four of his last six games, hitting .400 across that span.

Nicolas Carreno ended just one out shy of a quality start but striking out seven with only two walks is a good sign from the lefty. He ends August with a 1.17 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 23 innings bringing his ERA from 6.15 down to 4.13.

Single-A

St. Lucie (52-68) 12, Daytona (54-66) 5

Box Score

Aiden Robbins has been good for a college hitter in Single-A after finishing a college season, raising his AVG to .279 and his OPS to .814. Boston Baro is rehabbing an injury that kept him out up to this point and is a name to watch to see if he can bounce back. Overall the offense shoved scoring 12 runs on 16 hits and five walks.

Ryan Lambert began the game as an opener as part of his rehab returning from injury and pitched a scoreless inning. The blemish was Cesar Rivera failing to get an out giving up five runs and walking five. Everyone else pitched scoreless innings and combined for ten strikeouts.
