On Tuesday, Francisco Lindor lined a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to finish off a two-run rally and give the Mets a 5-4 victory over the Nationals. Read more about Tuesday’s action here.

New York will now try to complete the sweep on Sunday afternoon. Christian Scott (3-3, 3.45 ERA) will look to bounce back from a bad start in Atlanta. He’ll face off against the Nationals’ Jake Irvin (2-6, 5.79 ERA). The game will air at 1:40 p.m. ET.

According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, the Mets have informed Marcus Semien that they do not envision him as an everyday player in 2027, a development Semien is reportedly not thrilled about. “I’m so competitive with myself to want to play every day and play at a high level that it’s always going to be my goal,” he told The Athletic.

Former Met Seth Lugo was honored Saturday by the MLB Players Association for reaching 10 years of service time.

Right-hander Luke Gabrysh had a good outing against his former organization Friday, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out six. Gabrysh, acquired from the Phillies in the Brooks Raley trade, has a 30.2% strikeout rate which ranks second in the South Atlantic League. There was another dominant pitching performance in Brooklyn Saturday night. Jose Chirinos threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings as the Cyclones defeated the Jersey Shore BlueClaws 1-0 on Star Wars Night at Maimonides Park.

The Mets also made a couple of minor-league transactions. They placed right-hander Jack Wenninger on the minor-league injured list with an undisclosed injury. Wenninger last pitched Wednesday, allowing two runs over five innings. He has a 4.39 ERA in Syracuse this year. The Mets also released 20-year-old outfielder Simon Juan. Juan signed for $1.9 million during the 2022 international signing period but couldn’t make it past Single-A St. Lucie.

Rob Colonna of Mets Minors wrote about how the Mets have begun making huge mechanical and pitch-usage changes with right-hander Zach Franklin, whom the Mets acquired from the White Sox as part of the return for Huascar Brazobán.
