MLB Pipeline released its updated prospect rankings, and the Mets’ new top-30 list features three members of the club’s 2026 draft class and nine prospects acquired leading up to the trade deadline, according to Max Goodman of NJ.com. Jefferson Rojas is the organization’s lone representative on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100.

Mets pitching prospect Emilio Obispo is quietly putting together one of the organization’s best seasons. According to Mets Minors, the 19-year-old Dominican Republic native has continued to excel at High-A and recently posted his best start at the level. Obispo has emerged as one of the more intriguing young arms in the Mets’ system.
The Mets’ 2015 team was highlighted in a recent episode of All The Smoke, which looked back at the young talent and veteran experience on the club that reached the World Series. All The Smoke and 2015 Met Curtis Granderson shared a look back at that memorable Mets squad.

Reds All-Star Hunter Greene will miss the 2027 season after undergoing a second Tommy John surgery. According to Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Greene underwent the procedure Wednesday and is expected to miss 12-18 months.
The Red Sox placed Garrett Whitlock on the injured list with right elbow inflammation, retroactive to Aug. 10, according to Tim Healey of The Boston Globe. Greg Weissert has returned from Triple-A Worcester after spending six days in the minors without making an appearance.
Boston is also considering bringing top prospect Roman Anthony back to Boston from Fort Myers as he nears a rehab assignment. Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reported that the move would allow Anthony to remain closer to the organization before eventually joining Worcester or Portland.
The Royals signed right-hander Tony Gonsolin to a major league contract for 2026 with a club option for 2027. Kansas City announced that Gonsolin has been placed on the 15-day injured list, while right-hander Eli Morgan was designated for assignment.
The Mariners demoted top prospect Colt Emerson to Triple-A amid the young shortstop’s recent struggles, according to Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times.
The Minnesota Twins announced that they reinstated outfielder Byron Buxton off the 10-day injured list.
Former Met and current Rangers starter Jacob deGrom left his start on Thursday due to right triceps fatigue, according to Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News.

1986: The Mets played a rescheduled game for the first game of a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals on this day in 1986. They would eke out a 4-3 victory on a walk-off hit from Kevin Mitchell, who drove in Mookie Wilson in the bottom of the ninth. Ron Darling would start the game for New York and pitch seven innings, giving up five hits on two runs with eight strikeouts.
