Good morning, Mets fans!
Mets SS Francisco Lindor has been nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award. This award is the most prestigious individual award a player can receive. Through this award, it shows the spirit of the great Roberto Clemente with excellent character and community involvement, as well as being a positive role model on and off the field.

This week will be the final homestand of the regular season for the Mets. They will play three games against the Padres and conclude the weekend with three games against the Nationals.
In order for the Mets to give themselves some breathing room in the NL Wild Card standings, it is important for the Mets to close out their last homestand of the season strong. Before ending the season on the road in Chicago and Miami, the Mets have six games on this final homestand.
NL Standings Update
The Mets were able to sit back and watch the teams that are chasing them in the NL Wild Card standings on Monday.
The Diamondbacks won their third straight, 8-1 over the Giants. They’re now the closest team to the Mets at 1.5 games back. Former Met James McCann hit a two-run homer against former Met Joey Lucchesi in that game. It was the third straight loss for the Giants, who now sit two games back of the Mets.
The Reds beat the Cardinals 11-6 with eight runs over the final three innings. They’re tied with the Giants at two games behind the Mets.
The division is also officially out of reach for the Mets. The Phillies beat the Dodgers 6-5 in 10 innings late Monday night — their 90th win of the season, clinching the NL East.
The Mets open up their series vs. the Padres tonight at 7:10 p.m. ET. They’ll send out Clay Holmes (11-8, 3.75 ERA) and possibly piggyback Sean Manaea (1-3, 5.76 ERA) behind him, facing off against RHP Michael King (4-2, 2.87 ERA).
