Good morning, Mets fans!
Sean Manaea and Kodai Senga are both poised to return to the Mets’ rotation this weekend, bringing the team close to full health after months of injuries. Manaea completed his final rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Syracuse, pitching 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts while allowing three runs. If all goes well, he is expected to make his season debut Sunday in Kansas City, and will “piggyback” alongside Clay Holmes, who pitched Tuesday.
Senga, who has been recovering from a strained right hamstring, will come off the injured list Friday and start against the Royals. After throwing 68 pitches in a recent rehab outing, he is expected to be on a bit of a pitch count but should be able to throw 80-plus pitches.
