Speaking with Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Jose Iglesias expressed his hope to sign with the Mets. David Stearns previously indicated that the Mets were likely going to move on from Iglesias.

“It hurts because we started something that definitely isn’t finished yet,” Iglesias said.

In 85 games with the Mets last season, Candelita batted .337/.381/.448/.830.
