Maury Brown of Forbes reports that the MLB is expected to announce a delay to the start of spring training as early as today. A delay would be financially taxing on MLB franchises, as they would be losing potential ticket sales revenue and be forced to rebate the local sports networks for lost games as they did for the 2020 season.

Evan Drellich of The Athletic confirms that the MLB and MLBPA will meet next on Saturday. Jon Heyman of MLB Network adds that the MLB will most likely be introducing a new proposal that touches on core economic issues.
