The Washington Nationals announced their 2022 coaching staff and it certainly had a Mets feel to it. The Nats new coaching staff includes a couple of coaches from the Mets 2021 team in bullpen coach Ricky Bones and third base coach Gary DiSarcina.
Bones, 52, had been in the Mets organization since 2006 when he was the St. Lucie Mets pitching coach. He served as the Mets bullpen coach from 2012 through 2018 and then again from June of 2019 until the completion of the 2021 season.
The 53-year-old DiSarcina had been the Mets third base coach for the last three seasons and was their bench coach for the 2018 season.
Other former Mets on the Nats coaching staff include Pat Roessler (assistant hitting coach), Eric Young Jr. (first base coach), Tim Bogar (bench coach), and Henry Blanco (catching coach).
