Andy Martino of SNY reports that the Mets have interest former baseball executive Billy Eppler for their front office vacancies. Martino made a correction on his previous tweet that said the Mets had already interviewed Eppler.
Eppler was rumored to have been part of the Mets search last offseason after Steve Cohen officially bought the Mets franchise. That was right after he joined William Morris Endeavor to run the baseball division of their agency.
Previously, the 46-year-old was the GM of the Angels from 2015 through 2020 and the assistant GM of the Yankees from 2012 through 2014.
The San Diego native started his baseball journey back in 2000 as a scout for the Colorado Rockies.
On Monday, it was reported that the Mets were firing acting GM Zack Scott.
