Mets president Sandy Alderson announced that the Mets expect Carlos Carrasco to rejoin the team in July and Noah Syndergaard to return in September, as tweeted by Prospects 365.
Alderson also discussed the Mets’ 2021 season to this point on Thursday with “High Heat.” The full video can be found on the MLB.com Film Room.
The Mets return home to Citi Field tonight to take on the San Diego Padres at 7:10 p.m. ET. It will be the Cy Young Award winning Blake Snell (2-2) for the Padres against the Mets’ ace, also a Cy Young Award winner, Jacob deGrom (5-2) to get the series started. Two Cy Young award winners on the mound. This will be a game you won’t want to miss.

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced on Thursday that they have parted ways with Hitting Coach Darnell Coles and Assistant Hitting Coach Eric Hinske. With Coles and Hinske being let go, the club has named Rick Short (Triple-A Reno hitting coach) and Drew Hedman (Run Production Coordinator) as co-hitting coaches. As reported by Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said it was his decision to fire the coaches. This report was confirmed by GM Mike Hazen.
According to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, According to a judge ruling, Major League Baseball does not have to move the 2021 MLB All-Star Game from Denver back to Atlanta. A request was made from “a small business advocacy group whose evidence of economic damage was limited to a Goergia youth softball tournament in which the field had shrunk from 80 to 40 teams,” per Shaikin. He reported that the judge said, “To say that the legal underpinnings of this suit are weak and muddled is an understatement.”
MLB Trade Rumors reported on Thursday that the Chicago White Sox will be without second baseman Nick Madrigal for at least two months as he heads to the 60-day injured list with a right hamstring tear.
