Per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the Mets are also receiving cash form the Blue Jays in the trade. The money will negate the $2.5 million remaining of Stroman’s contract this season.
Mets’ General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen released this statement about the trade.
“Marcus is a dynamic talent who will bring tremendous passion to our team and energy our fans will truly appreciate. As a Long Island native, we believe that Marcus will thrive playing in New York.” (Jon Morosi, MLB Network)

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the New York Mets are sending 21-year-old left-hander Anthony Kay (3.13 ERA over 97.2 innings between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse this season) and 18-year-old right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson (4.25 ERA, 97 strikeouts, 17 walks over 78.1 innings with Single-A Columbia) to Toronto to complete the deal.

As per Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the New York Mets are “in agreement” on a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays to acquire right-hander Marcus Stroman, pending the exchange and approval of medical information.
Stroman, 28 and a native of Medford, Long Island, has pitched to a 2.96 earned run average over 21 starts for the Jays this season, racking up 99 strikeouts and walking 35 over 124.2 innings pitched.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that “the pending acquisition of Stroman appears to be independent of any potential [Noah Syndergaard] deal.”
Considering the return has not been announced at the time of publishing and this likely won’t be the only trade general manager Brodie Van Wagenen and the Mets make over the coming days, keep it locked onto MMO for continuing updates.
