Good Morning Mets fans!

The New York Mets (40-50) suffered a 8-3 loss to their division rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies (47-43). Zack Wheeler struggled early as he gave up four runs in the top of the first inning. As for the Mets offense, they were no-hit by Aaron Nola for 5.1 innings. The impending no-hitter was broken up by Pete Alonsos 30th home run of the season.

The All-Star Break begins tomorrow with the Home Run Derby, which Alonso will be participating in. The All-Star Game takes place on Tuesday, with Alonso, Jeff McNeil and Jacob deGrom representing the Mets.

Reds center fielder Nick Senzel exited Sunday’s game after suffering a right ankle sprain, according to John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Reds manager David Bell told reporters, including C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic that the sprain isn’t particularly serious and Senzel should be back after the All-Star break.

According to Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post, Max Scherzer’s spot on the All-Star roster has been filled by a replacement. Scherzer opted out of participating in the exhibition because of a minor back issue dating to his start against the Tigers last week.

Phillies general manager Gabe Kapler confirmed that Jake Arrieta does have a bone spur, according to Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
