Good morning Mets fans!
After two demoralizing losses, the Mets will look to take game three of their four-game set against the Cardinals. Noah Syndergaard (4-4, 4.45 ERA) will take the hill against Michael Wacha (4-2, 5.63 ERA). The game can be viewed on WPIX and WCBS 880 at 7:10 p.m.
Simply put, yesterday wasn’t a fun day if you were a Mets fan. The Mets continued their suspended game from yesterday, which ended in heartbreaking fashion as Paul DeJong hit a go-ahead single in the 10th inning against Edwin Diaz.
Looking to rebound, the Mets looked like they were looking just that in the early going, taking a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning. Steven Matz smacked his third homer of the season and Wilson Ramos and Todd Frazier contributed run-scoring hits.
Then Jeurys Familia entered the game. He allowed four runs. Hector Santiago followed him. He also allowed a run. Now, that’s not a formula to win ballgames.
