Outfielder Juan Lagares has been activated off the disabled list to take the spot of recently traded Jay Bruce.

Lagares went 7 for 29 in eight rehab games for the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies over the last two weeks.

Lagares, 28, has been out since June with a thumb injury and his defense has been sorely missed. In just 216.1 innings in center field, he had seven defensive runs saved to go with a 4.9 UZR.

At the plate in 2017, Lagares had been hitting .269/.317/.409 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 102 plate appearances with a 92 wRC+.

Lagares joins Brandon Nimmo, Yoenis Cespedes, Michael Conforto and Curtis Granderson as the outfielders on the active Mets roster.
