DeGrom’s eight double-digit strikeout games are the most double-digit strikeouts games he’s had in a single season and the most by a Met in a single season since David Cone had eight in 1992.

David Peterson, Mets first round selection (20th overall) in this year’s First-Year Player Draft, will make his professional debut tonight for Brooklyn (A) of the New York-Penn League. He is scheduled to start and throw 1.0 inning vs. Tri-City.

Juan Lagares went 0-3 and played 7.0 innings in centerfield for Binghamton (AA) in the first game of a doubleheader last night vs. Trenton and was 0-3 as the DH in the second game. Lagares is 2-9 (.222) in three rehabilitation games. He’s been on the DL since June 16 with a fractured left thumb.

Let’s Go Mets!
