The Mets announced prior to Saturday afternoon’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals that outfielder Michael Conforto has been activated from the disabled list.

In a corresponding move, New York has placed outfielder Brandon Nimmo on the disabled list with a partially collapsed lung.

Conforto, 24, went 3-4 with two singles, one double, one run scored and one RBI in a rehabilitation game Thursday for Single-A St. Lucie vs. Charlotte. He played nine innings in center field.

He has been on the disabled list, retroactive to June 28, with a bruised left hand. Conforto ranks seventh in the majors with a .405 on-base percentage and 10th with a .953 OPS.

Nimmo, 24, arrived at the ballpark yesterday complaining about discomfort and a Cardinals doctor at the field examined him, after which he was sent to the hospital.

“They took him to the hospital last night and that’s what they found out,” Mets manager Terry Collins said about Nimmo. “It’s not necessarily real serious, but it’s surprising for sure.”

Collins went on to say that sometimes, a collapsed lung can “just happen,” according to doctors.

Nimmo has already been released from the hospital.

The outfielder has hit to a .350/.458/.400 clip (7-for-24) in a limited sample for the Mets in 2017.

We here at MMO send our thoughts out to Nimmo. Very scary news.
