Former Mets bench coach Bob Geren will interview today for manager, reports Joel Sherman.

It was reported yesterday the Geren was a candidate.
Geren is currently the bench coach of the Dodgers. He was the manager of the Oakland Athletic’s from 2007-2011. He joined the Mets soon after as their bench coach from 2012-15. He moved to Los Angeles in 2016 for the same position.
Geren has the managerial experience the Mets are reportedly looking for but New York is also interviewing multiple candidates with no major league managerial experience.
It was reported last night that Buck Showalter interviewed for the role as well today.
Geren was last a managerial candidate after the 2019 season when he interviewed with the San Francisco Giants.
