FOX

The 95th edition of the MLB All-Star Game is tonight, and the Mets are well-represented!

Francisco Lindor earned his first All-Star nomination as a Met (and fifth overall), and Pete Alonso notched his fifth, as well. Edwin Díaz and his dominance this year earned him his third nomination, and David Peterson got his first as a replacement for Robbie Ray, who started on Sunday and was ineligible to play in tonight’s game.

Check out the full set of lineups below, and enjoy the game!

American League Lineup

  1. Gleyber Torres – 2B
  2. Riley Greene – LF
  3. Aaron Judge – RF
  4. Cal Raleigh – C
  5. Vlad Guerrero Jr. – 1B
  6. Ryan O’Hearn – DH
  7. Junior Caminero – 3B
  8. Javier Báez – CF
  9. Jacob Wilson – SS

Tarik Skubal, the reigning Cy Young Award winner in the American League, gets the call to start the All-Star game for the AL. He’s tied with Garrett Crochet (likely the second pitcher into the game) at the top of the AL in ERA (2.23), leads the league in WHIP (0.83), and is second to Crochet in strikeouts.

The AL features a handful of young but dominant pitchers, too: Joe Ryan, Bryan Woo, Casey Mize, Hunter Brown and Kris Bubic are all making their first ASG appearance. Jacob deGrom is making his fifth, but he won’t pitch during the game. Josh Hader, Aroldis Chapman and Carlos Estévez are strong out of the bullpen, too.

Bobby Witt Jr., Maikel Garcia, Brent Rooker, Steven Kwan, Byron Buxton, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Brent Rooker are all highlights of the AL’s bench.

National League Lineup

  1. Shohei Ohtani – DH
  2. Ronald Acuña Jr. – RF
  3. Ketel Marte – 2B
  4. Freddie Freeman – 1B
  5. Manny Machado – 3B
  6. Will Smith – C
  7. Kyle Tucker – LF
  8. Francisco Lindor – SS
  9. Pete Crow-Armstrong – CF

Paul Skenes will start his second-straight All-Star game, and he’s only been in the league for two seasons! It’s deserved, though, as his 2.01 ERA among qualified starters leads the league. His season is reminiscent to Jacob deGrom’s during his dominant years, where he’s pitching at an all-time pace, but he gets no run support. His 4-8 record reflects that.

Other pitchers who will follow Skenes include: MacKenzie Gore, Logan Webb, Clayton Kershaw (legend pick), Jacob Misiorowski (controversial pick), Jason Adam, Robert Suarez and more.

Edwin Díaz and David Peterson both made the team from the Mets, as well, and Díaz is more likely than Peterson to make an appearance tonight, as he’s been the best closer in the league (1.66 ERA in 38 innings).

Pete Alonso will also likely take Freddie Freeman’s place at first base after a couple of innings.
