Top Prospect d’Arnaud Cleared To Begin Running Program
Anthony DiComo is reporting that Travis d’Arnaud has been cleared to begin a running program, after he saw doctors today. That’s great news, and now you can get your minds running about the possibility of Travis d’Arnaud catching Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler in September. D’arnaud should be heading to Port St. Lucie to get his rehab started. I’m sure all Mets fans are hoping that his rehab goes quickly and successfully. The acquisition of a [...]

Mets Minors: Eric Campbell Is The Forgotten Man
In some ways, he could be called the forgotten Met prospect. With all the excitement of a young cadre of minor league pitchers, the yet unfulfilled promise of catching phenom Travis d’Arnaud, and the dizzying AA offensive numbers Cesar Puello is racking up in Binghamton, it is easy to get immersed into their storylines and bypass some others. All the while, Eric Campbell is putting together a decent season under the radar in Las Vegas as the forgotten man. Eric [...]

Featured Post: Sandy’s Mets Are Not Progressing
After an embarrassing sweep at the hands of the lowly Miami Marlins and a loss to begin the Nats series, the Mets find themselves on pace for just 66 wins and 96 losses which would amount to their worst season in a full decade. Certainly there is time for such grim propositions to change, but with fans already checking out at the idea of yet another lost season, the Mets’ problems are much deeper than [...]

John Buck’s Performance Has Taken A Nose Dive
Through the first month or so of the season, John Buck was a revelation for the New York Mets. A throw in for the deal and a salary dump on the part of the Toronto Blue Jays in the Dickey deal, the original plan for Buck was to be a stopgap until top-prospect Travis d’Arnaud was ready to take the reins at home plate in Flushing. What the Mets didn’t plan for was their blue-chip [...]

Mets Minors: Wilmer Flores Is Heating Up
Wilmer Flores got off to a slow start in 2013. The 21 year-old prospect found himself in the shadow of top prospects Travis d’Arnaud and Zack Wheeler when he arrived in Las Vegas. But now we find ourselves almost two months into the season, and Flores seems to be hitting his stride offensively. Flores is quietly putting up solid numbers this season, batting .292/.335/.470 with 26 extra-base hits in 202 at-bats. There have been some [...]

Prospect Spotlight: Francisco Pena Is Tearing It Up In Vegas
Francisco Pena, the son of former major league catcher Tony Pena, is making the most of his situation in Las Vegas. He basically inherited the starting catching job with Travis d’Arnaud and Juan Centeno on the disabled list, and is doing his best to make us forget about those other two guys. Pena has come to the plate in seven games with Las Vegas, and is hitting a robust .385 with four homers and 10 [...]

Alderson Says He Could Be Buyer At Trade Deadline, Open To Adding Big League Players
The Mets could be buyers at the trade deadline according to what Sandy Alderson told reporters before yesterday’s game against the Yankees. Alderson would not discuss specific players or scenarios, but confirmed that his team is open to adding big leaguers this time, rather than restocking the farm system. “We will see how the market develops, but yes,” the GM told the Daily News. “It’s a possibility. It depends on what is available. I have [...]
