We’re Not Going Down Without A Fight, Mets Interested In Sizemore!
Sorry for the dramatics… I’m just practicing for the year when we can actually use exclamation points again in our titles… SNY’s Kevin Burkhardt reports that the Mets are “very interested” in center fielder Grady Sizemore. Sizemore underwent microfracture right knee surgery in September and will be unavailable until midway through the 2013 season. He attempted to work his way back from the knee injuries that have plagued his career since 2009 and avoid the surgery, but he missed the [...]

Mets Considering Whether To Bring Back Chris Young
According to a team insider, the Mets are still considering whether to bring back and re-sign free-agent RHP Chris Young, Andy Martino reports in the Daily News. The trade that sent R.A. Dickey to Toronto and brought back catching prospect Travis d’Arnaud, created a new hole in the starting rotation. The Mets will not replace their lost ace with a top pitcher, but are seeking a fifth starter, says Martino. Young was 4-9 with a 4.15 ERA [...]

Noah Syndergaard Apologizes For Using Anti-Gay Slur
Updated at 7:00 PM As I expected, right-hander Noah Syndergaard apologized today for the anti-gay slur he made on Twitter. During a conference call with New York media, he said: “I had a little mishap on Twitter about a month ago, and it was just brought to the attention this morning,” he said. “I’d just like to apologize for anything that was said. A buddy and I were having a little conversation. I had a poor attempt [...]

Alderson’s Amazin Plan: A Long And Winding Road
2012 saw Miguel Cabrera become the first Triple Crown winner in 45 years. I wonder if Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski has considered trading Cabrera. Surely after putting up numbers like that he could definitely get some good prospects. We had a pitcher once who seemed to be slipping. He was approaching 33, his best years behind him. Over his last two seasons, his ERA rose 26%, his strikeouts decreased by about 8%, his wins dropped [...]

Puma: Mets Should Be Getting Outfield Help Soon
The Mets should be adding an outfielder in the coming days tweets Mike Puma of the New York Post. Puma doesn’t specify a name or whether the acquisition will be via free agency or trade, however Puma offers us two clues. One, is that the front office has been “working on something” and two, that this mystery outfielder has not been linked to the Mets. If this is true, than the particular acquisition that Puma is referring to would most [...]

Mike Nickeas Included In Dickey Deal
According to Jon Heyman via twitter, Mets catcher Mike Nickeas will be the third player included in the deal that will send R.A. Dickey and Josh Thole to Toronto that recently became official with Dickey’s passing his physical. The Mets will receive 18-year old outfielder Wuilmer Becerra as the fourth player involved in the deal. Heyman describes Becerra as “a prospect but aways away and nowhere near the level of the other 2 prospects the Mets got.” Becerra [...]

The Mets and Blue Jays have agreed in principle to a trade which will send R.A. Dickey and Josh Thole to Toronto for their top prospect C Travis d’Arnaud, C John Buck and RHP Noah Syndergaard, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Both teams will also include another minor leaguer, or the Blue Jays could reportedly add cash to the deal instead.
