Mid-Season Mets Minor League All-Star Team

matt harvey

What a great night it was for our prospects in Buffalo and Binghamton who were selected to play in the Triple-A and Double-A All Star games. As you may have already read in today’s MMO Farm Report, we had Matt Harvey, Fernando Cabrera and Valentino Pascucci representing the Bisons, while Eric Campbell, Jefry Marte and Armando Rodriguez repped the B-Mets. Our Boys didn’t disappoint as they all performed well especially Pascucci who was on base all four [...]

Can Mets Win A Wild Card With One Of MLB’s Worst Defense?

daniel murphy

Currently, the New York Mets are one of the three worst fielding teams in the Major Leagues. They have already tallied 63 errors this season. They are one-thousandth of a percentage point from having the worst fielding percentage in the NL. By position, the Mets lead the league in errors at center field and second base, and are second to last at right field and surprisingly first base where they also have the worst fielding [...]

Should Mets Take A Flyer On Fuentes?

brian fuentes

The Oakland A’s released veteran reliever Brian Fuentes yesterday, after they designated him for assignment on July 3. The A’s were unable to work out a trade for him given his struggles and the approximate $2.5 million he is still owed for the remainder of this season. The A’s are now on the hook for most of that salary and any team that signs the left-handed reliever is responsible only for the prorated portion of [...]

Hold Up On Harvey

matt harvey 2

As you probably could have guessed, I’m not in favor of bringing Matt Harvey up right now. I think just as with the Upton discussion, too many people are quick to jump to the easy solution. The Mets can easily send some top prospects for Upton, that doesn’t mean there’s no negative side to the deal. The Mets can easily appease the fans and call up Harvey, but that doesn’t mean they should. The last [...]

Mets Face Second Half Uncertainty

Dillon Gee

I know there are Mets fans out there who, like me, are still operating under the constant state of cautious optimism. The first half if the season saw the Mets surpass most of our wildest expectations. They won early and often, not spending a single day under .500 this season. On Friday when the second half of the season gets underway, the Mets will embark on the pursuit of a playoff berth. However, they will [...]

Just to clarify from the start, this article does not involve Ray Ramirez, Hospital For Special Surgery, Jack Kevorkian or any other medically related field. June 17th, 2012 I attended the Mets 3-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Father’s Day with [...]

Mets Are Better Than Sex AND The Phillies

Scott Hairston

Our friends at the Mets Are Better Than Sex get all the credit for uncovering this gem. It’s audio of Phillies announcer, Scott Franzke, going off on the Mets’ Scott Hairston last week during the series at Citi Field. Apparently he didn’t realize his mic was live when he exclaimed the following after a Hairston home run. “Will somebody figure out how to f***ing get Scott Hairston out? He stinks! Jesus Christ!” http://youtu.be/_EEUBDjQdec Hairston has hit 5 home [...]
