According to Jon Heyman of FanRag on Twitter, the Yankees have acquired former Met Tyler Clippard from the Diamondbacks.

In return, the Diamondbacks are receiving pitching prospect Vicente Campos from the Yankees, reports MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert on Twitter.

Clippard, 31, signed a two-year, $12.25 million contract with the Diamondbacks this past offseason, but hasn’t been great for them thus far, pitching to a 2-3 record with a 4.30 ERA.

Clippard will return to the ball club that he started his career with back in 2007, before spending time with the Nationals, A’s, Mets and the aforementioned Diamondbacks.

Vicente Campos has spent 2016 so far between High-A through Triple-A in the Yankees farm system and has pitched to a 9-3 record with a 3.20 ERA.

With Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman being traded recently, this move makes sense for the Yankees who are getting an established veteran reliever to fill out their bullpen.
