In a mostly clerical move, the Mets transferred starting pitcher Tylor Megill to the 60-day injured list.

Megill was on the 15-day IL. By transferring Megill, the Mets opened up a space on their 40-man roster and signed infielder Kramer Robertson off waivers from the Atlanta Braves. Roberston was assigned to Triple-A Syracuse.

The Mets made a third move as well, activating reliever Colin Holderman from the 15-day IL, and assigning him to Syracuse.

The timetable on Megill has not changed. He would be expected back in August at the earliest. Injuries have derailed his more than promising start to the 2021 season.

Robertson, 27, has played two games in the majors in his career. He has one at-bat at the top level. Robertson plays second base, shortstop, and third base. He’s spent time with the Cardinals and Atlanta Triple-A squads this season where he’s slashed /242/.397/.782 in 51 games.

Holderman has been a surprise out of the Mets pen. In 11 1/3 innings for New York, the right-handed reliever has allowed four runs and struck out 14 batters. He made one rehab appearance in Syracuse prior to his activation. He struck out two batters in a 1-2-3 inning.
