kyle farnsworth

Here are some quotes from one time Mets middle reliever/closer/scrapheap pickup Kyle Farnsworth as reported by Mark Puma of the New York Post after learning of his release:

“I am very bitter right now,”

And Dan Knobler , from ESPN New York also got this nugget from Farnsworth

“Hopefully I’ll find a team where I can play against this one,”

Kyle I am sorry but you should have seen the writing on the wall. You were a scrapheap signing, and you were lucky the Mets even rolled the dice with you and afforded you an opportunity after they lost closer Bobby Parnell for the season.

Your stats this season were mediocre at best, and even though you saved three games, you came up way short in at least three others.

In other words  – Don’t let the proverbial door hit you in the proverbial ass!

And a message to general manager Sandy Alderson:

I am happy to see that you are cutting bait on players whose best years are behind them for players whose best years are hopefully in front of them.

And with that said…. HERE COMES THE INFAMY !!!!!

Mets alumni celebrating a birthday today includes:

Mets pitching coach from the ’03 season, Rick Waits turns 62 (1952).

Middle reliever from the ’02 season, Tyler Walker is 38 (1976) .

Other notable transactions include:

The Cleveland Indians claimed catcher, reserve Brook Fordyce of the New York Mets on waivers on May 15, 1995.

Mo Vaughn is a legend in his own mind!
