jordany-valdespin

If you thought you had heard the last of former Met Jordany Valdespin, think again.

After the Mets 3-0 win over the Rockies on Wednesday night, manager Terry Collins called out Valdespin while raving about the impact Juan Uribe has had on the Mets.

“Juan Uribe, he’s got two World Series rings, he’s made a ton of money, he plays the game right. That’s what makes a difference in the clubhouse. It’s too bad that Jordany Valdespin can’t watch this guy play because he would have been a hell of a player. I’m serious about that. To have a guy with that talent watch this guy play the game, it would have made a huge impact.” (Mike Vorkunov, NJ.com)

Boom! Where the heck did that come from? 🙂

After two years of trying to make it with the Marlins, Valdespin was finally released last month and remains unemployed.

Interestingly enough, both Michael Cuddyer and Juan Uribe collected their 1,500th hits of their careers last night.

Sadly, the one-time Mets top prospect probably will never see 1,500 at-bats.
