Noah Syndergaard’s MRI results have come back negative says Marc Carig of Newsday. Syndergaard’s doctors have recommended he do some “shoulder stretching exercises”.

Alderson stated that the Mets top pitching prospect is “essentially fine”.

Mets can now collectively exhale.

Mets top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard has been bumped from today’s start at Triple-A Las Vegas, placed on the DL and is heading to New York for an examination of his elbow by team doctors.

The Mets are calling the issue is a flexor-pronator strain and his exam will most likely include an MRI of his right elbow.

Anthony DiComo of Mets.com says that a flexor-pronator strain was a precursor to Tommy John surgery for other pitchers and recently Stephen Strasburg and Josh Johnson. But he adds that for many, many other pitchers it was not.

Syndergaard last pitched on Thursday, allowing three earned runs on five hits and two walks in five innings pitched.

In ten starts for Las Vegas, the young 21-year old righty has a 4.04 ERA and 1.452 WHIP over 53.2 innings pitched.

More to come, but keep your fingers crossed…
