A source tells me that former Mets pitcher Chris Flexen has a signed a major league deal with the Mariners. Ken Davidoff of the New York Post has confirmed, and said the deal is for two years and worth $4.75 million.

Flexen, 26, signed a one-year deal to pitch for the Doosan Bears in Korea last offseason. Chris pitched quite well in Korea, posting a 3.01 ERA and striking out 132 batters in 116 regular season innings.

Chris flexed even harder in the playoffs, pitching to 1.91 ERA as the Bears went to the Korean Series. He earned the semi-finals series MVP when he tossed 7 innings of two-run ball in Game 1 and pitched three scoreless innings to get the save in the Game 5 clincher.

Flexen also became the first pitcher in KBO history to pitch back-to-back double-digit strikeout games.

The former 14th round pick was rushed to the majors after only seven starts in Double-A for the Mets back in 2017. He struggled to the tune of a 7.88 ERA in 14 appearances in the big leagues for the Mets that year.

He was then shuttled back and forth between the minors and majors for the Mets, and he continued to struggle. In 68 major league innings with the Mets, Flexen had a 8.07 ERA from 2017 to 2019.
