dillon gee

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports on Twitter, the Royals have signed former Mets starting pitcher Dillon Gee to a minor league deal. He reportedly turned down a couple of major league deals to join Kansas City.

Gee, 30 in April, was designated for assignment in April by the Mets after falling out of opposition with the Mets’ ownership.

The veteran pitcher went 0-3 with a 5.90 ERA in seven games started this past season before being relegated to the bullpen, and then eventually demoted to the minors, where he would stay for the rest of the season.

In six seasons with the Mets, Gee pitched to a 40-37 record, with a 4.03 ERA and 4.25 FIP.
