Robinson Cano did some running before Saturday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies and Mickey Callaway told reporters that the second baseman “felt really good” and could be available off the bench for the game.

Cano, 36, hasn’t played in a game since Wednesday night when he re-injured his left quad in his first game back from the 10-day IL.

The Mets acquired Cano along with Edwin Diaz in exchange for Jarred Kelenic, Justin Dunn, Jay Bruce (now with the Philadephia Phillies), Anthony Swarzak (now with the Atlanta Braves, and Gerson Bautista.

So far in 2019, Cano is struggling with a .238/.284/.366 slash line with three home runs and 14 RBI to give himself a -0.4 WAR and 77 OPS+.
