According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Cincinnati Red, Atlanta Braves and the Toronto Blue Jays have checked in on free agent infielder Kelly Johnson on a non-roster deal.

The veteran former Met is still seeking a major league deal however. Last offseason, Johnson settled for a one-year deal worth $2 million on January 8 with the Braves.

For the second straight season in 2016 the Mets traded with the Braves for Johnson midseason to improve their infield depth.

Johnson hit .268/.328/.459 with nine home runs and 24 RBI last season for the Mets 201 plate appearances.

Despite no timetable for the return of David Wright the Mets have not shown interest in bringing Johnson back.
