The Mets (16-20) blew a 7-1 lead to the Milwaukee Brewers (21-17) by a score of 11-9 on Sunday at Miller Park.
Pitching
Jacob deGrom got the start for New York and battled for six innings, allowing four runs while striking out seven.
Jerry Blevins inherited a base runner and allowed a two-run home run to the first batter he faced.
Fernando Salas inherited a base runner and allowed an RBI double. However, he was able get out of a second and third with nobody out jam. In his second inning of work, he was charged with another run as he managed to retire only one batter.
Josh Edgin hit the only batter he faced, Eric Thames, who later came around to score.
Addison Reed blew his first save of the season as he allowed a two-run single followed by a go-ahead three-run home run to the Brewers’ back-up catcher, Manny Pina.
Hitting
Michael Conforto opened up the scoring with his ninth home run of the season. He drove in two more runs with a double and finished a single shy of hitting for the cycle.
Neil Walker continued his red hot series with three hits, including a two-run double and an RBI single. He finished this series, going 8-for-12.
Rene Rivera followed suit, staying hot with a two-run single.
T.J. Rivera picked up a late inning RBI triple, he’s hitting .306 with nine RBI.
Jose Reyes and Jacob deGrom also had multi-hit games.
