Here’s a compilation of photos from players arriving Monday at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The pictures were taken by MMO photographer Ed Delany, who has taken some really impressive shots!

Edwin Díaz

Edwin Díaz returns to the mound, trumpets included, in 2024 after missing all of the 2023 season after suffering a torn patellar tendon. Díaz noted today that, “he was feeling good and ready to pitch at the end of last season if the team was in contention.” He was the NL Reliever of the Year in 2022 and finished on the All-MLB First Team.

Mark Vientos

Mark Vientos was all smiles at camp Monday morning. Over the offseason and weeks leading up to camp, he worked extensively with Francisco Lindor to hone his craft in the cage and on the field. He arrived at camp early, ready to make his mark on the season. His 51% hard-hit rate in 2023 ranked in the top percentile in baseball.

Christian Scott

Christian Scott threw a live BP session on day one of spring training Monday when pitchers and catchers “officially” arrived. Scott enters spring as a breakout prospect from 2023 to watch, as he ranked twice on 2024 preseason Top 100 lists. He ranked No. 99 on ESPN’s list and No. 5 on Baseball Prospectus‘ Top 10 Mets Prospects.

Francisco Álvarez

Ed Delany, MMO

Francisco Álvarez enters his second season on the major league roster as one of the top power hitters on the team. He finished his rookie campaign with 25 home runs and a 2.7 fWAR through 123 games and is expected to play even more games during the season. A favorite among the veterans on the team, Álvarez will continue to develop his game at and behind the plate and prove why he was the team’s top prospect for so long.

Stay tuned for more photos! The fun is just starting.
