Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Philadelphia Phillies have acquired first baseman Justin Bour from the Miami Marlins in return for a minor league pitcher.

Bour, 30, is in the midst of a down season for the Marlins slashing only .227/.347/.412 with a 108 wRC+, 19 homers and 54 RBI. He’s also been a below average defensive first baseman with -3 DRS and -0.8 UZR.

The big left-handed hitter is arbitration eligible this offseason, but is under team control through the 2020 season.

Of course, the Phillies already have an under-performing first baseman with Carlos Santana. He is under contract through the 2020 season as well, and has an option for 2021. Santana does have previous experience at both third base, right field and catcher.
