According to multiple reports, the Mets have sent two of their top representatives to scout the Braves Double-A and Triple-A teams.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets have sent assistant General Manager Allard Baird to scout the Braves Triple-A team. Kyle Wright, MLB Pipeline’s 23 ranked prospect, is starting tonight.

Sherman also noted that the Braves tried hard last year to acquire Zack Wheeler.

Andy Martino of SNY reported that Omar Minaya is on assignment with the Mississippi Braves, Atlanta’s Double-A affiliate. Ian Anderson starts for Mississippi tonight, while, Christian Pache (12th ranked), and Drew Waters (42nd ranked) are all rostered by the Mississippi Braves.

News of the Mets scouting of the Braves farm system comes after ESPN’s report of the Mets desire to move Syndergaard before the deadline next week. Syndergaard has been at the center of trade rumors since the winter, and has been linked to the Yankees, Padres, Brewers, and now the Braves.
