Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets have pulled Noah Syndergaard off the trade market and that he will be staying with the Mets past the trade deadline. The right-hander was pulled from it after his start on Tuesday.

Syndergaard, 26, had a masterful performance on Tuesday night in which he struck out 11 batters in 7 1/3 innings while allowing one run (none earned), five hits, and one walk.

So far in 2019, Syndergaard has a 7-5 record and has a 4.10 ERA, 1.239 WHIP, and 3.48 FIP in 21 starts (134 innings). He also is averaging 9.2 K/9 as compared to 2.5 BB/9 on the year.

The Mets still have him under team control through the 2021 season via arbitration. With the Mets taking Syndergaard off the market, arguably the best option left has been removed and teams will be forced to look elsewhere for a starter.
